Let's Talk Transeasonal Dressing

Hot one minute, warm the next, if you are finding dressing for the current weather just a little tricky then fear not, I'm here to give you the low down on what we call in fashion: transeasonal dressing.

Transeasonal (or Trans) fashion are the go-to pieces that bridge the gap between seasons. Think lightweight knitwear, sleeveless cover-ups and the must-have outerwear piece of the moment - the Duster coat. These gems can be slipped on over summer dresses, playsuits, tees, etc and are oh-so- stylish!

Key trans items have already landed in shops. Below are a few top items that I am currently swooning over, with the tribal duster coat from River Island being my number 1 need- to-have-now piece.

Dancing Queen

A few weeks ago, I dug out one of my favourite body con dresses, (I love a body con), along with a badass pair of heels and pink Lippy, to go out dancing with a group of my lovely girls.

After a long week at work, we all just wanted to let our hair down and dance until the early hours of the morning.... I guess what we used to do when we were 18 ( sigh).

A fun night it was; cue a ridiculous amount of shots, way too many cocktails and dancing hard to the ridiculous amount of tunes the DJ was spinning!

The Shoes

These shoes are probably one of the comfiest pair of heels I own! I was dancing in them the whole night, my feet didn't feel like they were going to fall off,  and trust me when I say I was busting out some serious moves in these beauties.

I got these shoes for Christmas, last year and I think they as fierce as hell, easily taking an outfit  from simple to standout!

The Dress

Excuse the blurriness of these pics, they were taken with my iphone.

This dress is by Julian McDonald. It was given to me a few years ago. I hadn't worn it for a while, simply because I forgot I had it. But as soon as I rediscovered it and slipped it on, I felt like the cat for cream. It is actually silver metallic and as a girl who wasn't blessed in the boob's department, the bust area is lightly padded so no bra is required, thank you.

Are you a fan of bodycon dresses?

To all the ladies in the place with style and grace...

Has anyone snapped up any great buys in the summer sales? I popped into River Island last week to see if could find some bits for the next shoot that I am styling on, which happens to be a video shoot (more about that later). I picked up a few bits for the shoot and also printed dungarees for a very debit card friendly price of £15.

Today I gave my dungarees there first outing. I love the print and the colour which also sits nicely  alongside my new dip-dye hair colour.

Faux furrrrrrlicious

Spring where are you? Man, I am well peed off that the temperature has dropped so much!!! it is  freezzzzzzing!!!!!!!!! This outfit is a bit of a faux fur overload but what is a gal to do in this painfully cold weather (FYI- I also had on a faux fur shaggy coat over my gilet).

What do you think of my electric blue faux fur hat? When I saw it I knew I had to have it, it was sort of screaming 'Buy me' so I did. I picked this up back in December at the clothes show live for a very purse friendly price of £5; what a steal!

This time next week I will be in sunny Thailand for one of besties wedding..... *SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!*
so I guess I shouldn't complain too much lol! in the mean time I will continue to wear all the faux fur that I can.

Keep warm peeps! xx

"Hello lover"-my bargain of the week

Hands up if you have found January a wee bit of a struggle? Hands up if you are SERIOUSLY counting the days until pay day? (My hands were up for both questions).

OK so this year I have had a major case of the January blues, grr! I know I am not alone on this as my lovely colleague and I talk about the January blues constantly!!!

January is such a strange old month, you only have to look at the person's face next to you on the tube on the morning commute to confirm this. Even the other day in River Island where I was "dragged" to go to after work with one of my fave colleagues, a group of girls were stood right behind me talking about how "depressed" they were this week, I wanted to turn around and say “I know, I feel you" but I chose not to.

Right then and there I decided that I was no longer going to give in to the "January blues bug" (what’s left of January, that is). So whereas (like many) I attempted a detox and failed miserably, I am definitely going to eat more healthy and clean but will allow myself the odd treat (hello chocolate muffin) and I will not feel ‘guilty’ about it. I am also going back to Zumba, Kick boxing and Jogging as I so enjoy keeping fit and I have been slack since... ummm.. NOVEMBER 2012 , *shakes head in shock horror*

I am also going to set some monthly goals rather than resolutions and I'm definitely going to try and stress less and "not sweat the small stuff". Now I know January is almost over and you could argue that my new way of thinking is a tad late BUT better late than never right?

It seems the shoe fairies were in agreement with me as whilst I was thinking all of the above I tripped (literally) over pair of gold boots that had been chucked on the floor by a shopper. As the saying goes another gal's shopping trash, is another gal's treasure (ha- ok I made that up, but you get where I'm going with this) but in front of me were a OMG gold pair boots (that I had swooned over months ago) in my size AND the best part... they were on sale for £10 from £85.

Did someone say BARGAIN??

These golden booties will instantly add a injection of now-ness to any outfit.

Now I just need the silly snow to disappear pronto so I can rock these bad boys ASAP!!

My bargain of the week

Ok, hands up if like me you are SO hating this ridiculously  cold   FREEZING weather? Seriously since the weather dropped last week, I am finding it even harder to get up in the mornings and as the office is as cold as ice I am wearing so many layers that I (almost) find myself breaking out in a sweat during the morning commute (how sexy!) I have also become seriously attached to my pink hot water bottle, and I mean seriously! So much so my pink hot water bottle almost came to work with me yesterday but I annoying forgot to take it as I had to make a quick dash out of the door to catch the 7.10 bus.

Anyway the only positive thing that has come out of this annoying temperature drop is that I had to buy a pair of gloves as I realised I some how did not own a pair aka I have misplaced my gloves from last Winter.

So meet my new orange Pu/Tweed beauties that I bought from River Island for a January sale friendly price of £7 ( originally £18) .

I love how warm and oh-so bright these gloves are, what do you think?

BAD ASS Booties

After a long day working, applying for jobs and the rest I was feeling a bit grrrr until I came across these UH-MAZING, boots that I really MUST have!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really feeling all things gold and metallic at the moment. I do have a gold vintage pair of boots but they are more of a "run around" boot, so I really do want a pair that I can rock in the evening. These BAD ASS boots have my name written ALL over them. I would wear these boots with leather leggings or burgundy velvet shorts.

I now just need to find the money so I can buy these boots as the last time I checked my bank balance I almost broke out in a sweat LOL!

Bargain of the week

This week's bargain of the week is another goodie,  infact I almost did not get my hands on this item, see i walked in to H&M yesterday to return something and as I was leaving the store I saw a cute shirt on the mannequin, I knew I needed to have it so I frantically searched for the this shirt in store but I could not find it. As I am not one to give up I asked one of the sales assistants for her help, she pointed me into the direction of a random rail where guess what??  on this random rail was this shirt, ahh!!! I was happy, like a kid in a candy store and as it was the only one left, which means I was meant to have it.... right? I grabbed it immediately, blinked as I checked the price as it was VERY purse friendly and headed straight to the cash desk!!!

So here it is, my bargain of the week

H&M embroidered shirt,
Price £7.99

It is 1 size too big though but because of the style of the shirt I think it looks quite cool worn over sized, (a key trend this season)what do you think?

AHH  Summer time in London is just fab!!! I'm loving every min of it!!  I will admit when i first heard that were due to get sun I did have doubts as to how hot it would actually be. But boy has it been SO hot and it still is. As I write this post i am rocking:

-ankle socks ( just for fun plus the air con at work is a JOKE)
 -orange wedges
 - My fave blue hat
-and a  cool pink checked  over sized shirt that I again 'found' in my wardrobe... I must take a pic later...
